Our Mission

Educate, treat, and empower individuals with Down syndrome, and those who care for them. We assume each person with Down syndrome is competent and can communicate and develop speech clarity and verbal language to achieve independence.

Our Connection

We are one of the only groups of SLPs dedicated to improving speech and verbal language for those with Down syndrome. We develop innovative and impactful approaches to improve verbal communication for people living with Down syndrome of all ages. .

Our Specialties

We are certified Speech Language Pathologists with over 30 years combined experience treating those with Down syndrome and other motor speech and intellectual difficulties. We focus on speech clarity as the foundation for overall health and quality of life.

We Offer

Connected speech is the natural process in spoken language where words flow together continuously, blending sounds to create a more natural and fluent delivery. Instead of pronouncing each word separately, speakers link words, and sounds can be modified, deleted, or inserted. This contrasts with how words might be pronounced in isolation and is essential for both natural-sounding speech and effective listening comprehension.

We are proud to work closely with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Houston, Texas, providing real-life coaching and readiness skills .

We are eager to provide speech and language services to members in their own communities We will accept Medicare and Medicaid and enroll in the Medicaid Waiver program.

Sarah Bookout, SLPD, CCC-SLP runs the clinic locally at the Pursuit Center and works closely with GiGI’s Playhouse in Houston, soon coming to the Pursuit Center.
